Hello, my name is Mekenna Clugston. I’m 17 years old and am going to be a senior this year at Murrieta Valley High School. I currently play on 951 Elite 18-Dennis as a DS/RS. This is my sixth year of club volleyball and I don’t know what I would do without it. I am a passionate player and individual and am hoping to play volleyball at the next level.

My freshman and sophomore year I played on my schools JV team, my sophomore year giving me the opportunity to serve my team as their team captain. Junior year I was a part of Murrieta Valley’s Varsity team where we battled out and went all the way to Division II CIF Finals and Division I State Semis. I couldn’t be prouder of the team I got to play with and how far we went this past season.

My cumulative GPA is a 3.6. I am enrolled in multiple IB Honors Classes. Alongside my academics, I am a four year ASB/Student Leadership student. I’ve had the privilege of serving my class as the Sophomore and Junior Vice President and will continue on as the ASB Vice President for the 2020-2021 school year. I am also a cadet in my schools JROTC program where I currently hold the rank of Cadet 2nd Lieutenant. Being a part of both of these amazing programs has allowed me to build not only as an individual but also as a teammate. Another school related activity that I am involved in is my campus’s N.E.S.T. Club. In the club a handful of peers and I work together to focus on involvement and bringing in the Special Education department into the schools everyday culture. Working with this program has given me a path for my future as I plan on pursuing Special Education as my career choice. Outside of school I love to spend time getting work in at the gym and spending time with my family and friends.
